Since a name change request was submitted to the Provincial Grand Lodge of Hertfordshire and the UGLE (United Grand Lodge of England) from Kingswood Lodge No 2278 to Samuel Ryder Lodge 2278, we have been full steam ahead to create from an ancient and respected masonic lodge, a dedicated “special interest” golf lodge. This change has certainly not been a quick process and have taken many brethren many years to plan and execute.
17 existing Masons joined the lodge back in 2023 and with the existing members, have been working tirelessly to embrace the Kingwood Lodge history and transform the ethos into a dedicated golfing lodge in which our aims remain the same with regards to integrity, friendship and charity but now with the added bonus of golf.
